The car was MoT'd just before PV and its first proper run was down to the show. Immediately, Jon knew he had made the right decision to fit the Z20LEH engine. 'The LEH is miles better than the old C20LET,' he reckons, 'the power is just nstant right Irom the off. really smooth. The engine nas done jjst 10,000 miles too.' You can't argue with that, or the stats; it makes 286 bhp and 301 lb/ft of torque, which means this car has just as much go as it does show.
Jon's Kadett is an electrifying mix of Euro inspired old school exterior, fused with modern parts and enjineering. It turns the quality of perfornance Vauxhall builds up a couple of notches. What's even better is that this most certainly will not be the last time we hear from Jon. Not only is he restoring his SR. he's also got a Kadett C on a spit in his garage as his next project. What's going to be done to that? Something that's never been done before, that's for sure.
