ASTON MARTIN: 1962 DB4 Series III coupe, silver blue metallic with red leather interior and black carpeting, 4-speed David Brown gearbox, original left hand drive specification, factory Webasto sunroof; this DB4 coupe is a matching numbers example that was originally delivered through French agent Garage Mirabeau in Paris to well known French industrialist Pierre Firmin-Didot on 5/7/61 in its original color of black pearl with red Connolly hides, registered 63 LH 75; it was subsequently sold to a TV/radio journalist; in the years 1973-1976 while owned by Monsieur Pirre De Branges, it received an engine rebuild (July 1973) by French specialist Motor-Action; thereafter it appears that all other maintenance of the car was through world renowned Aston specialist Richard Williams; 1976-1979 it was acquired and owned by Comte Audoin de Dampierre, president of the AO Club of France and well known Aston collector; at the time he had two identical DB4s with consecutive chassis numbers 727 and 728; in 1978 Comte Audoin de Dampierre entered the car into events both in the UK and Europe; Comte de Dampierre sold the DB4 in 1978; 1978-1988 it was owned by a lawyer in Paris, Monsieur Maître Didier; 1988-present it has been in the ownership of several Aston Martin enthusiasts, it is currently showing 115,000 original kilometers (70,000 miles) believed to be original given the extensive amount of ownership records and receipts that accompany this DB4; within the last two years over £50,000 has been spent on this DB4 both cosmetically and mechanically by UK based specialists; this DB4 is offered with excellent provenance from new and is in outstanding condition throughout.
